Our Publications

Cox Bank Publishing specialises in writing about sport and adventure activities.  We produce anthologies of writing, with our three most recent books covering sport in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.

Our latest book is Just a Face in the Crowd, featuring the memories of life-long Stoke City fan Roger Horwood.

We've also just published the first in our "This School Loves..." sports-writing series, featuring the creative talents of local primary school children. SPLASH! covers swimming and was produced in collaboration with Hillside Primary School in Baddeley Green, with help and inspiration provided by Jenny Booth, Paralympian swimmer, gold medal winner and world record holder from the Los Angeles paralympics!

Earlier this year we also published Sporting Stories - an anthology of over 80 contributions on 30 different sports and activities, celebrating Stoke-on-Trent's status as 2016 European City of Sport. Potters 'Arf 2016, covering the Potters 'Arf, Stoke-on-Trent's iconic half marathon race, came out just before Christmas and we're now working on the book of the 2017 race.

An anthology of stories from the 2016 Stoke-on-Trent Half Marathon - the iconic Potters 'Arf race.  With contributions from runners, marshals, sponsors, the race director, race secretary and more, it captures the spirit of the race and confirms why this is such a popular and challenging event!

The Best of the Fells is a collection of fell race accounts, written by runners, and featuring a wide range of races and challenges across the UK (and a few beyond).

Read it for entertaining accounts of the Bob Graham Round, the Fellsman, classic Lake District fell races, the Ben Nevis Race, the Grizzly and many more.

Thirty-five different running clubs and fifty runners have contributed to the book. All proceeds from the book are being donated to UK Mountain Rescue.
