Spoz: The Potters Arf Poet - by Peter Hooper

Spoz first popped up on my radar when the great team at City Central Library in Hanley recommended him for some writing workshops and schools projects that I'm developing at Cox Bank Publishing.  Having seen him in action hosting a poetry slam for Worcestershire schools, and knowing he had done some good stuff up here, I invited him along to the Potters Arf to do a bit of poetry and to inspire others to write.  In addition to his own poem, which is in the collection of stories here, Spoz also wrote six others for runners or spectators - a lovely little collection, again all here, and amazingly all produced 'on the spot' either during the race or immediately afterwards as runners hobbled past.  If you want to know more about Spoz then read on...

SPOZ…because it’s easier than his real name, ‘GIOVANNI ESPOSITO’ and happens to be the bit between the ‘E’ and the ‘ito’ (sort of).

He has been seen on BBC and Central Television, has written for and been heard on … BBC Radio Four, Radio Five Live, Radio West Midlands, Radio Coventry & Warwickshire and Capital Gold, as well as the toilet.
